Most stalled keto is a measurement problem rather than a willpower problem. Eyeballing nut butter and cheese is where the hidden carbs and calories come from.
What to look for
- 0.1 g resolution for small amounts of sweetener and psyllium
- A tare button that is easy to reach with a bowl on the plate
- Grams and ounces, since a lot of keto recipes are written in US units
- A flat, wipeable surface rather than a bowl you cannot remove
How to use it
Put the bowl on, press tare, add the ingredient. For one honest week, weigh everything that is fat or nut based and eyeball the leafy greens. That is where the error actually lives.

The catch
Cheap precision scales drift and their batteries die at the worst moment. Check it against a known weight now and then, such as a new pack of butter.
