Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, 15 oz
Organic, cold pressed and unrefined, with coconut oil as the only ingredient and a wide jar that is easy to scoop from. Nutiva sells a steam refined version if you want no coconut taste.

The base of most fat bombs and a good share of keto baking. It is solid at room temperature, melts at body temperature and brings a mild coconut flavour with it.
What to look for
- Virgin or extra virgin and cold pressed if you want the coconut taste
- Refined instead if you want a neutral flavour for frying
- Organic certification, which is common and not much dearer here
- A wide mouth jar, since you will be scooping it when solid
How to use it
Melt it gently for fat bombs and baking, or use it for medium heat frying. It is not the same thing as MCT oil, so do not expect the same quick energy effect from a spoonful.

The catch
Coconut oil is very high in saturated fat, which matters if your cholesterol is something your doctor watches. Butter or olive oil cover most of the same cooking.
